Hi, our primary heating is providing by propane furnace, but it is very expensive so we just wait for infrared heater that we have ordered to reduce our bill heating. It's suppose to be very efficient from what I have ear. It is very popular and in demand around here.  I will tell you soon if it is good.  Do some of you using it?

Hi Fred!  Thanks so much for posting.  I have not tried the infrared heaters and have heard good and bad about them.  Have you received yours yet?  What is your opinion/experience so far if you have?  Don't hold back!  Share the pros and cons if you could.

Thanks!

Hi, I received my 3 units but I only plug one first to see first how it works. Weel, our neighbors call us cause it didn't see the chimney working…  So, it works well and it economise the furnace.  Also, for what I see on my electric bill is that's not very expensive compare with propane cost.  The winter is finish but for the next one, for sure I will plug all the units.  I think that you maybe able to heat 1,000 sf area as they tell it supposed to, if your house has good insulation. If not, you will heat less space, that's why I bought 3 units.  Another negative point is that it is noisy a little bit, not too much but like any kind of electric fan…  If I notice something else, I will be back and share it here.

Thanks so much for keeping up with the post.  We heat with pellets and I was just figuring this morning that we save about $1400 per year now over what we spent on propane.  We have spent less than $1000 this year to heat in Upstate New York and we are about done with Winter too.

One thing I would caution you of…when thinking of plugging in all three heaters, be sure you have enough power to handle this load.  We have a lot of things plugged into our house, but if two 1500 watt heaters are plugged into our walls at the same time, it will sometimes blow a circuit.  I wish we had a 200 Amp service, but we don't.  Someday maybe.

Enjoy your warmer months!
