Hi, we bought a double wide mobile home in New York state. It's a 1983 plus an addition. The roof has been change in 2005 for a metal one. This winter has been our first one in this new house. We weren't there all the time cause this is our vacation home. But we are very disapointed about the poor quality of the insulation, particulary in the roof, cause it forms ice all around the bords. Our neighboor told us that he removes snow before it turns in ice, at each storm… Well, it's not a solution for us, cause we aren't there all the time. Also, our heating bill are very expensive either we just change for a brand new propane furnace. It cost about $200. of propane for each week and we use firewood in a little woodstove and we aren't there all the time! when we aren't there, we just put the thermostat at 60 to prevent frosting.
So, we think that it could be the best if we can update the insulation of the attic but is it possible? The attic isn't deep, so I think we cannot go in but is it possible to spray foam or to inject insulation?
