A Faux Brick Wall In One Afternoon? Sure!
This month, we put in a faux brick wall as part of our bedroom suite remodeling project. Here’s a quick how-to video for doing a light finish on it.
We used Faux Brick Wall Paneling 4×8 foot sheets. Cut and mounted them with Loctite and a nail gun.

I just want to a share my comment on your awesome blog. I am planning to do a faux brick wall in my daughter’s room. Thank you for showing me such a great inspiration. But I have something to ask you. After I build my daughter’s faux brick, can you also teach us how to properly clean a faux brick? I am worried that I may have a hard time cleaning it, since my daughter is only 10 years old.
Hi Brad.
Sorry for the delay in response! I'm so glad you found our information about the faux brick wall useful and I hope your daughter will enjoy the one you create! We've done a faux brick wall in two rooms and we love them. We actually have not had to clean them because 1. they don't show dirt because they have a mottled color finish with the paints we applied, and 2. they don't get much traffic since they are walls. However, I do own a cleaning business and what I would do is simply use a microfiber cloth and warm, clean dish water and wipe it clean. The paint shouldn't come off. But, if you are worried that it will get dirty with markers or makeup or other substances and would require more vigorous scrubbing, it might be a good idea to put a coat or two of Varathane on it. You can do this lightly and it will coat it with a clear layer that will be easy to clean. I've used the waterbase Varathan (available at Home Depot) on a kitchen island butcher block top I built and a farmhouse style plank wood floor we built. It's low VOC, not much smell to it at all, and very easy to clean up since it's waterbase. This could serve as a protectant for the wall and make it easier to clean. I wouldn't worry about it too much though. The paint you applied when making the wall should hold up to washing just like any regular painted wall. I hope you find this information helpful and I'm SO glad you found our site! ~Beth
