This month we watch a mobile home demolition…top to bottom. This is really pretty fascinating!
Check out this great bathroom re-do. They removed the wall strips!
A terrific remodel! Love the soft, warm color and feel in this home.
An interesting way to insulate under your mobile home:
Hi, I have been iving in my double wide for 14 years. The manufactur date on my home is 1994. I want to completely make my home over. I cannot afford a new home. How much would it cost to renovate my entire home. I don't need anything fancy, just clean and up to date.
Hi Teresa. Thanks for visiting and commenting.
Our double wide is a 1995. We did a major remodel in 2007 and spent about 14k to do it all. It included a full bathroom tear out and remodel from the subfloor up-a huge new living room floor, back wall and found space that we turned into a living room closet, a whole new bedroom remodel with flooring, wainscot, wallpaper, trim, new doors all around in the house, laundry room floor, new plywood hand built skirting, water heater, pressure tank and new plumbing, and that's all I can think of. Since then, we've spent about 15k more in a kitchen remodel, built-ins in the living room and knotty pine walls/ceiling, second bathroom remodel from the ground up. This year, we've torn down a wall between two rooms, installed a hand cut wide plank hard wood floor, ship lap walls and ceiling with expensive window treatments, plus all new triple pane windows. We do these things as we can afford to pay them out in cash. Next year, we are going to build new skirting and install all new water lines. After that, we are DONE!!!! Or at least, I hope so :-)
I don't know the condition of your mobile home, so its hard to tell you how much it would cost. If I could see pictures of it and get an idea of what you would want to do in each room, I could give you options and approximate cost. If you want to share these with us, feel free to go to our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/mobilehomemakeover/ and share your pics in a post. We'd be happy to look and give you our opinion.
It costs more to hire someone to do the work, of course. We've done both- mostly on our own, but some we've hired out. The older we get, the less we want to do ourselves!
Thanks again for posting.
